The RetroSphere^TM is a unique whole-angle retro-reflector for the 600-900 nm range, the first efficient whole-angle retro-reflector to be offered as a commercial product.

A cemented assembly of five different components, it has a diameter of 70 mm -about the size of a tennis ball. The simple geometry gives a reflection that essentially arises from a point on the far surface of the sphere.

This particular product is intended for use with laser-based survey instruments such as total stations. The ability to sight the same target from many different directions gives a major advantage in terms of operational convenience. There are several other possible application areas.

The Retrosphere^TM is produced by a specialist sub-contract optical manufacturer. Sample devices are available now. Production devices will be available in the first quarter of 2007. We are currently seeking commercial partners.
