RetroSphereTM

-

RetroSphere Logo

The RetroSphereTM is a unique whole-angle retro-reflector for the 600-900 nm range, the first efficient whole-angle retro-reflector to be offered as a commercial product.

A cemented assembly of five different components, it has a diameter of 70 mm -about the size of a tennis ball. The simple geometry gives a reflection that essentially arises from a point on the far surface of the sphere.

This particular product is intended for use with laser-based survey instruments such as total stations. The ability to sight the same target from many different directions gives a major advantage in terms of operational convenience. There are several other possible application areas.

The RetrosphereTM is produced by a specialist sub-contract optical manufacturer. Sample devices are available now. Production devices will be available in the first quarter of 2007. We are currently seeking commercial partners.

Similar technology can provide devices for other wavelengths, including mid and far infra-red. We will be pleased to discuss your requirements at the exhibition.
